Resilience Wellness 52- week challenge

After years of sitting on our bottom ends, studying to be the doctors you now see here at Resilience Wellness, we have finally decided to get back to our outdoor leisure roots. When you are in school, raising children, and basically running a daily marathon in your brain, it makes getting out in nature and exercising a little difficult. Not to say it can't be done, just that it is MUCH easier to relax on the couch than convince yourself to get up and go for a hike or a bike ride.

 

As the female practitioner here, who produced said children, and who is now heading quickly towards menopause, I have also noticed a huge change in my body. I have noticed that weight likes to camp out in my body and takes a lot more effort than it used to, to vacate the premises. Part of this journey towards a more healthy lifestyle has included a conscientious change in diet. I have chosen to go with a Keto diet, in which I eat lower amounts of carbohydrates (around 20g per day), and focus on eating healthy fats and protein (fish, avocado, nuts, etc).

In addition to dietary changes, our Chiropractic Assistant Kailee has challenged Dr. Rex and I to begin taking care of our bodies through exercise, and as such, she has challenged us to one hike a week for the next 52 weeks. We will be going on strenuous hikes that are straight uphill for several miles, or more even terrain by hiking along the coast. As we do these hikes we will be posting our adventure on our Instagram page along with notes about how we are feeling and we invite you to join us on our journey!
